They are ripping me off by charging for a stay that I never stayed at, and they won't give me a receipt for what they charged. They are coordinating with Expedia to rip me off and cover it up, so I will file a case in federal court for civil RICO.

Still refuse refund unless they have a 30 day bank statement that I won’t provide (couldn’t right now, anyway, which they know. Delay tactic to not do the correct thing). Apparently a document showing the last 4 digits of card used and other details along with amount posted to your account isn’t good enough for this crack team of investigators!

On November 20, 2025, I booked a room at Motel 6 and canceled within the allowed timeframe. I received an official cancellation confirmation from Motel 6, and the property itself told me I was not charged.

Despite that, a $712 posted charge appeared on my bank account.
When I contacted Guest Relations at 1-80*-***-****, I was told I had to provide a full 30-day bank statement to receive a refund an extremely invasive and unnecessary request, especially since I had already provided:Reservation confirmationCancellation confirmationA screenshot of the posted $712 chargeScreenshots from my bank account showing the charge tied to my debit cardMy drivers licenseA copy of their own privacy policy, which does NOT authorize them to demand a 30-day statement for a simple refund
Instead of processing the refund, Motel 6 claimed my documents were not clear, even though they were standard screenshots and perfectly readable.

I also copied their privacy department, who still has not responded.
I am now stuck with $712 missing from my account, and Motel 6 is dragging the process out with unreasonable demands that feel like deliberate barriers to prevent refunds.
I need my money returned immediately. This is unacceptable.

User's recommendation: Do not book online directly with them. Call the physical location. Their website cannot handle booking at sites that have both Studio and Motel 6. They will first try and change the original charge to double, then blame you for their poor technology. They will refuse your refund unless you share your private financial information with them. Even then, they will try and not refund the money clearly gone from your account. If you do book online, use a credit card not debit so you can do an immediate chargeback. Do not blame the physical hotel location; this is truly NOT their fault. Avoid OYO brand, G6 Hispitality, LLC, Motel/Studio 6.

Motel 6 - Can I get major complaint

For reading rooms, Motel 6 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, they stuck us in a nasty, dirty room. Things all over the sheets where they haven't been washed, and all kinds of trash under the beds.

I have four service dogs. This man charged me $35 a day for my dogs being in here. That's illegal; he cannot do that.

I want a refund for it. I'm not a happy person because now he's sitting here selling me out of the motel after me spending almost $2,000 here for the last week and a half, and we've had the bill all but $48.

I had a mildew room so the next day they switched me room it smelt worse then the last one this one had a foul smell like rotting carcasses and I got fed up at the end of the night lifted up the bed and there was a dead rat underneath the freaking bed I had complained about it when I first checked in but they didnt do anything at all they said you could go stay in the last room if it better

I used the Motel 6 app. I paid for November 1st, November 12th, and November 18th and 19th, and I got booking confirmation.

I got to the motel, and there was no reservation. I contacted customer care, and they will not give my money back. I called my bank, and they said to contact Motel 6 because they captured the money.

The Motel 6 corporate number is a joke; they will not give me my money back. Pay at the motel front desk; never trust the app.

We had to find another place when there were limited rooms available at an increased price. The card was billed.

Oyo stated we checked in when the billed amount was charged to the card. Just for the record, this was done on the Motel 6 app.

Very poor customer service when trying to clear this up. Those we called would not take ownership.

Deposit refunded

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Amarillo (Shamrock), Texas on dec 24th. I paid for my room with cash and put a deposit on my credit card.

The deposit is still here 15 days later.

Is this normal? I tried contacting the motel but no response.

Avoid Elko Motel 6 in Nevada. They will not get our business ever again while they charge a security deposit to rent a room for the night.

Disgusting and shady practice.

Whoever bought this franchise has no idea what customer service is. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.

The refund of the $100 security deposit went to my credit card.
Elko Motel 6 is beyond help. It's been a problem for years and even though they are trying to fix rooms, the problem is ingrained in management at this property.
What could Motel 6 do better?

Stop unsuitable people having Motel 6 franchises. If they don't want to be hoteliers, they shouldn't be in the business. "Protecting" shady properties by gouging tried and true guests should be actively discouraged.

I've been staying at Motel 6 properties for 20 plus years and this is the first time any have charged a security deposit at almost twice the nightly room fee. This Elko management is disgusting.

Wrongfully booked for 2 reservations

I'm my cash app my cash app was charged this morning at 5:23 twice for mobile for motel 6 it was charged twice my cash up got charged at 5:23 a.m. this morning it got charged two times from motel 6 I never booked that hotel I'm at the Days inn riding around the corner from it I booked a room at Days inn not motel 6 and they took the money twice I need my money refunded immediately please because I am on disability and I need my money it has brought my account way down low and I can't go get groceries I am very upset

I gave them the booking numbers and the bank statements and still have no refund. Can't talk to anyone from Corprate they just give me the run around over and over.

Just want my money back for having to pay for three reservations two times each.

Hello Motel6 team,
My name is E and I recently stayed at the Motel6 located at 1717 East Dyer Road, Santa Ana, CA. I stayed in room 106 from July 29th July 31st before heading back east for a family funeral.
During the first night of my stay I noticed dead bugs and a lizard in the ceiling fan light above the shower.

See the photos/video attached. I let the front desk know about the issue and the only response I received was "our maintenance team is not working currently".

Even when asking for a room change they told me non were available. I have been trying to communicate with the manager on site and staff about my refund request but they have simply ignored my efforts.

Do not stay with motel 6

What happened is, I had been driving for 18 hours. I was extremely tired.

I needed some sleep, so I checked into Motel 6.\n I stayed until about\n 2 o'clock, 3 o'clock in the morning and I left Because I could not get no sleep.

The people upstairs were stomping on the floor slamming their door and there was more people in and out of that than a Walmart.\n I tried contacting the customer service. They didn't do nothing for me except for me to get ahold of The property manager, which I called and I stopped by.\n And he never had time for me, I guess cause I never got a phone call and he was always too busy.

Dear Motel 6 Corporate Office Headquarters

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an unacceptable and distressing experience I had at your Motel 6 location at 1010 S Freeway, Tucson, AZ. My stay, spanning multiple dates between July 12th and July 22nd, was marked by misconduct, harassment, and gross unprofessionalism by your staff and management.

I paid a total of $611.00 for my reservations, including $187 paid directly to the front desk for July 1618.

I remained in communication with staff regarding my payments, including for late extensions, and did so respectfully and in good faith. Despite this, I was met with hostile treatment and, eventually, was aggressively thrown out into the rain by the propertys general manager, who banged on my door, shouted, and treated me with complete disregard and disrespect. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but threatening and emotionally traumatizing.

I attempted to discuss this matter calmly over the phone, but the general manager became increasingly rude and hostile. When I informed her that I did not feel safe or comfortable continuing the call, she continued to escalate the situation.

I was left feeling completely humiliated, endangered, and deeply shaken by the experience.

Furthermore, the overall customer service and engagement by the staff at this location were consistently poor. The online reviews clearly reflect a pattern of similar guest complaints, which raises serious concerns about ongoing negligence and systemic mistreatment.

I am demanding a complete refund in the amount of $611.00 for all expenses incurred due to the egregious misconduct I endured. The trauma, emotional stress, and psychological harm caused by this experience have had a lasting impact on me.

I have obtained legal counsel and will pursue all available legal remedies if this matter is overlooked or not appropriately addressed in a timely manner.

Pay your bill, in FULL, upfront, don't be a disturbance to others or break any rules or steal and you will be just fine at this motel and any other one. The majority of the world staying in motels and hotels manage to do this everyday.

You don't have a lawyer, so don't think you are fooling anyone with that old tired line. People who stay at Motel 6 and can't even do that successfully cannot afford to pay an attorney $200+ an hour. Also, your "attorney" would have told you NOT to contact the business since you have retained their services. They are now your voice (except they aren't because they don't exist).

You aren't entitled to any refund for any time you stayed. You want your money back so you can go try this same scenario at another 1 or 2 star motel and it's not going to work. No one here works for the motel. You chose to publicly post your complaint where it has the potential to be seen by thousands and thousands of people, perhaps eventually millions.

People are going to have opinions when someone asks for something as outrageous as you have, i.e. a full refund for time stayed at a motel because your feelings are hurt or whatever nonsense you said.

I’m not here to argue. I paid in good faith and communicated clearly about my situation, including my intent to pay slightly late—which I’ve never had an issue with before.

And If this is indeed the Motel 6 manager, your response only confirms the unprofessional conduct I experienced. I communicated in advance about a late payment, stayed for over a week, and was still met with aggression and zero compassion.

Refusing to acknowledge that and mocking the impact it had on me is unacceptable.

A motel might allow a one time late payment but when the person intends to make it a habit, they can't have that. It's like, they tried to be nice and allow it one time and now the person intends to just keep doing it and no, sorry, that has got to be nipped in the bud.

They cannot allow that to continue happening. Because of you, the next guest will be denied that one time late payment. Trying to work with someone just doesn't seem to pay off in the long run, when it comes to motels and guests.

If I own or managed a motel, I would never allow a late payment. People take advantage, get comfortable and become entitled.

No one cares. All you need to do to stay out of the spotlight at a hotel is pay your bill and don’t be loud.

All of your issues you wrote about stemmed from you not paying your bill on time.

Find a park bench next time and don’t argue. You caused your grief and any trauma you felt.

I've been coming here now for 2 months maybe I've been getting charged $70 then $75 deposit a $30 deposit and I seen a man go in the office and say something about a balance he only had $50 and he need 20 over 20 dollars and she's told him to give him a time limit she gave me a 30 minute timer $60 okay but she gave him an all-day time to be for 20 that's not cool he should have been giving his deposit and giving his bags and got his *** out this hotel the same as she do me and my homeless friend girl and her son with nowhere to go that I know she's going through something cuz I would be too ready then I don't pay for but that's not what we're talking about she's just so misunderstanding she doesn't understand it at all she's had discriminated my character telling people people out here saying that I'm selling drugs and doing this I f*****at the end of the day I can come in here and pay it anytime I want to without sometimes it makes me sit here and think so hard do I really want to get this late in my money with that kind of attitude and she can't help me for 40 minutes not even for 2 hours but she can help her she can help everybody else for days that *** is not right and excuse my language but I am pissed okay because at the end of the day that child should come before any of these grown *** people out here you going to put him in the streets but they still laying up sleep for f*****chicken at 3:30 this morning at the same date on the 5th and she told me I got to check out at 11:00 on the 5th that's not right that's the same they check out it's a 24-hour checkout for a hundred for for $70 and a 50 f*****bugs in this motel that well I can say Beatles I'm not going to say I I don't see one or two girls going to happen okay but it's I can deal with it but what I can't deal with is a woman that talks to me like I'm nobody and I pay her f*****check every time I go talk to this lady she's screaming she can talk to me in the inside voice she don't have to do that and you have an you have some employees are are cool that they're right they respectful she's the only one that gives me a problem every time $120 and you checking me out and what is that it's 8 hours time frame we're supposed to be 24 it's the same date I can take this to court I want a refund and I want some free days in this hotel if not I'm going to run lawyers out up their *** and I promise you that I'm not satisfied and I work damn hard for my money and I'm pretty sure we're going downstairs too and we don't deserve that *** that she's doing that office she's not a bad person at all she's not bad but she's push the power type that take her authority in a bruises she abused the *** out of it

User's recommendation: They're very they're very rude they have no understanding she she takes deposits if you're 2 minutes late coming out of the room she treats other people different than what she treats some people everybody should be treated equal but she doesn't do that she give other people chances to and hold that hold their money and hold their rooms and and everything but for like me I'm feeling like in my finger girl she has nowhere to go so at the end of the day if you can do that for them why can't you do that for us you're discriminating it's not cool it's illegal it's against the law she can't do that at all she has to treat every customer the same she can't treat One customer better than the other and everybody's paying the same amount of money or go for one should go find but she steals treats everyone different she treats them as if they're paying $300 more than what bill payment we are paying the same how can you hold a balance for him but you can't hold a balance for me for 2 hours but you can hold his balance up to 7:00 that evening it's not right and it needs something we need to be done about this immediately excuse my language you have a great day

Horrible

I have used Motel 6 and I can never book a motel after 5 or 6 and be able to check out at the proper time. For example, I'm in the Motel 6 Waxahachie parking lot and it's 2:15 AM, and we can't check in. And if we do, it's 30 dollars extra just to check out at 12 AM the same day I check in!
